Soooo whats happening in life today? Well, my finances suck because my job doesnt pay very well (I quit my 2nd job because I hated working there). I would like to get a job at a nursery, but everyone already has their staff for the season *sigh* And I really, really, really dont want another retail store job (customers are straight up idiots).
Ive been busy creating a woodland garden in the backyard.
Pics will come later.

hmm, what else was i going to write about? Oh well, my life is boring anyways. All I do is garden and work. And browse Facebook. And watch Netflix (Anyone seen the Amazing Planet series? its, well, amazing!)

No one reads this crap anyway...ta ta for now ya'll

For Christmas, I decided to make my mothers gifts spa-themed. In addition to giving her some store-bought facial masks and emery boards, I also gave her some homemade body scrubs. Store bought scrubs are not -that- cheap, and for the most part, you have no idea exactly what all those weird sounding ingredients are. I did sugar/oil and banana/sugar scrubs. I found these nice little glass bowls with plastic lids in the kitchen storage aisle of my local grocery store to put the scrubs in.

The first one, the sugar/oil was very basic. 1 cup of sugar (I used organic cane sugar which was on sale for cheaper than regular white sugar, was was great) to 1 cup of oil. I used olive oil, although you can use other oils such as grapeseed, sunflower, canola, etc. Vitamin E oil would be great to use, but because its rather expensive, I would use just a small amount in addition to another oil. Stir it up, and voilĂ , a simple scrub that works just as well as those store bought ones.

The banana scrub was also very simple. 1 banana to 3 tablespoons of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla for a nice added scent. Blend together. An electric hand mixer makes this easy-peasy.

Here are the websites I browse through when looking for homemade beauty ideas (th efirst one is where I got the banana scrub from)

Got my wisdom teeth out yesterday

I went in at 2:30pm to get a Periodontal Treatment, a filling and my wisdom teeth extracted.

The dentist said itd be a good idea to get them out a.s.a.p. because I have Periodontal Disease back there. So, out they had to come! I was awake for it all because only an Oral Surgeon can put you under, but theyre more expensive.

When I went in, they gave me a shot to numb me up. After waiting, my right side was numb but my left still had plenty of feeling. So they gave me another shot. That seemed better. They started the treatment on the right while waiting for the left side to go numb. After the nurse was done with the right, the left side was numb so she cleaned there. Then the doc came in with these huge pliers Shocked He actually had to use 3 or 4 different pairs, I guess for different angles.
It wasnt at all painful, but it was very uncomfortable... for awhile there I thought he was going to break my jaw!
The bottom left tooth was the hardest, it had long roots and just did not want to come out! He also had to inject numbing stuff a 3rd time for that one because it was very sensitive. After it was out he said it had long roots which had a good hold in the gums.
They finally got all 3 teeth out...
Afterwards the doc asked if it had been hard to get the missing tooth out and I told him (Im surprised he understood me with my mouth full of gauze) that I had never had a 4th tooth...I was special *lol*
Its rather awkward talking when your lower face is numb and your mouth is stuffed with gauze...

My jaw ached all last evening and its still a bit tender today. Pulling teeth is hard work O.o
They gave me Vicoden ES (extra strength) which actually works, even though regular Vicoden doesnt. The bleeding kept up until I went to bed and I thought surely Id drool blood all over the place, but I didnt. No bleeding this morning.

No solid foods for another 24 hours or so. So far Ive had soup and pasta (which is soft enough) for lunch and dinner. Cant wait til I can have cereal again *lol*

House makeover

So my bf and I moved into our house on April 1st. It needed quite a bit of work to get it in decent enough shape for us to move in. It still needs a bit of work, but its getting there.

Repairing a huge crack

And this is why you need regular duct cleaning people! 10 years worth of crrap in here!

Dining Room painted Clam Chowder

Master bed. Will be painted blue.

Master bath. Sink area will be same color as room, shower area will be a different shade of blue. I want it to be an ocean theme.

Hallway. Painted Hot Cocoa now.

Guest Room. Painted green now. Not the same shade as the storage room though.

Storage room. Not sure what color this will be.

Craft room. Needs a new coat of paint, walls are dinged up. Will make this a castle theme with candles and such.

Downstairs bath. Will definitely be changing this color!

Kitchen. Not much going on here yet.

Front room. Painted Vanilla Milkshake.

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

These cookies are awsome! I love the vanilla flavor, and if you use sea salt, every so often you'll get just a hint of salt which actually tastes way better than it sounds. I didnt come up with this recipe, and unfortunately I cant remember the website I got it from. I do recall it was a blog-type site and the author was female. If anyone recognizes this recipe (it must be the exact same one!) please let me know so I can credit the author!

2 sticks unsalted butter (if you use salted butter, they'll come out too salty!)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoons sea salt OR 1/2 teaspoon table salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 bags chocolate chips (you can use less if you want)

Preheat oven to 350F. Cream together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar on high speed for 3 minutes.
Add eggs and vanilla, beat for 2 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients until fully mixed.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Drop cookies on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake 12-14 and let cool on cookie sheet.

Spring flowers

Just a few of my spring flowers :) I have more pics on my other computer which I'll have to post another day.

Daffodils
Daffodil close-up

Not sure what this flower is, its on a shrub
Pansies are one of my favorite fall/spring flowers because they bloom all winter here! Although once the summer heat hits em, they're done for. They prefer the cooler weather.

This black/purple hyacinth is my favorite. Id love to find some more bulbs that'll bloom this color. This one came from a mixed bag. I also have pink and white hyacinths. I want more more more cause I loooove the scent!

These yellow tulips are called Daydream. Im surprised how prolific they are! I planted them Fall of 2010. The purple and red tulips dont have names, as far as I know. I dont even remember where I got them.

A morning drive to work

Showing off some pics I took on my way to work one morning :) Fog first, then a gorgeous sunrise. The pics of the sun almost look like a sunset, but I assure you it was most definitely morning *lol*
